HARVEE
For 5 years he tried to win her over. For 5 years, he failed. Through countless rejections, disapproval and heartbreak, he kept holding on. Everyone thought giving up was the right thing to do but his heart said otherwise. This he couldn't understand why. Just when he was about to give up, Princess decided to give them a chance.
PRINCESS BARBARA
She has never seen Harvee as nothing more than a friend - she hated long distance relationships. He has always been a friend. Always there for her, even when he was overlooked. Through years of seemingly being unseen and countless other suitors, she saw his sincerity - just when he was about to accept being just friends.
Everything was smooth sailing when they were together at first. They just graduated from college, and it was like they were meant for each other. But a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. The distance between them grew further and further. He needed to onboard ships while she stayed working in the Philippines and they tried to make it work. Together when they can. Make the best while they can. Princess then started working in Singapore and he continued boarding ships. Their distance seemed much further than it ever was. A couple for nine years but can only be together, physically with each other for two. It was both a burden and a blessing.
Being far away from each other with different time zones, slow internet service and fights that end up in tears. Even more so when you feel helpless and each other is what they need most. It's a heavy weight on their shoulders when they both try not to drag each other down. When chances to talk are very few, they become each other's anchors in difficulties and each other's sails that make their relationship into a beautiful journey.
A blessing because the burdens they overcame made them both stronger. They appreciated the little time they had and made it more memorable. The longing turned to joy every moment they saw each other from eye to eye. They said, "All the pain and hardships just make sense when you know you can come back to the person you call home." They went through life with these ideals. No matter where they go or how far it takes them, it will all be worth it. As they continue writing their love story, they no longer hold each other's hand because of love, they do so as they choose to write their story together.
Through the burdens and blessings of life, they made a choice, and that choice led us to where we could all witness them take another step hand in hand on their wedding day.
